About Me
My journey in agriculture and extension work has always been rooted in a love for both animals and people. As a teenager, I started out training horses, which not only taught me patience and discipline but also sparked a desire to help others learn. It didn't take long for me to branch out into working as a clinician, teaching horsemen and women how to better connect with their animals and achieve their goals.
That passion for teaching and problem-solving naturally carried into my work with livestock. As a Beef Quality Assurance Coordinator, I had the privilege of working side by side with cattle producers to improve herd health, efficiency, and overall profitability. I saw firsthand how small changes could make a big difference on a farm, and how much producers valued having someone they could trust to share science-based, real-world solutions.
I was lucky enough to continue pursuing my passion to improve farm productivity as a part of my doctorate in Animal Science, where I got to focus on designing management strategies to improve livestock health and efficiency. Not only was it exciting to be on the cusp of cutting-edge research, but it was incredibly rewarding to be able to bring that knowledge into practice on real farms of my producers. That passion for turning research into usable tools led me into a career filled with University teaching and extension programming. Through extension, I had the privilege of working side by side with producers every day—hosting workshops, leading clinics, and creating programs that made a tangible difference for cattlemen, horse owners, and small-farm families alike. In the classroom, I taught and mentored students, helping prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders. In both spaces, my goal was the same: to connect people with innovative, practical strategies that improve the health, productivity, and sustainability of their operations.
Legacy Ag Consulting was born out of that same mission. Today, I’m committed to partnering with producers at every stage; whether you’re just starting out, growing an existing farm, or looking for new ideas to keep your legacy strong.
